Home Style & Beauty I Can Take On The World, But First I’ll Need Lipstick!

If it is one thing that’ll make me feel just a tad bit insecure, it’s bare lips. This dawned on me yesterday while i was in Georgetown inhaling a really REALLY good burger which virtually wiped off all my lipstick. When I realized that I didn’t have any type of lip product on me to save my life, not even Chapstick, my dear old friend and I made a trip to Sephora which was just a few blocks away. Perfect excuse to buy makeup that you don’t need, right?

IMG_4023 The color I purchased was Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Intense Color Lipstick in the shade Pearly Violet (15). The lipstick retails for $20 and is an amazing color if I may say so myself. I paired the shade with Clinique’s Quickliner for Eyes in Intense Ebony (yes I used a black eyeliner as a lip pencil) and I also applied just a tad bit on a shimmery pink Sephora brand gloss in the center of my bottom lip.

PROS -Great Color that seems to last pretty long. – It has a pleasant light smell -Though it is a shimmery lipstick, it feels really comfortable on the lips.

CONS – It’s sort of hard to apply. You definitely need to use some elbow grease to get a really good application This was my first purchase from Make Up For Ever, but when the time comes for my unnecessary spending, they’ll be getting a visit from me.

So how are you guys feeling these purple lips?

Thank you! You should try maybe a soft shade of purple. Purple can look good without looking too bold.

You’re welcome! Yes, I was thinking I could maybe try a more paler purple that leans a little more pink so I won’t feel so unconfident haha. Thank you though! <3

No prob! Yes that should work for you. Keep in mind that I used a black eyeliner as a lip liner though, so it made it much more intense.

Thanks for reading 🙂

Eeeeek that color is intense, and it’s probably even more intense in person because makeup products never show up the same on camera as they do in real life. I do like this color on you, Mika. I don’t think I could wear it though – too much for me. I’ll still with MAC’s Heroine – that’s my favorite purple lippie.

It is a bit intense, just how I like it 🙂 I also love heroine but usually like to pair it with black eyeliner vs. vino, currant or nightmoth as suggested. I guess I love a deep purple lip. Thanks for reading Drea!
