Allow me to reintroduce myself…
July was a big month for me. Aside from turning 23 I started a new job and moved back to the big Apple. Perfect timing has seemed to ne the theme of my life as of late, with me moving, celebrating a birthday and starting a new job literally within days of one another.

The New-ish City
When I was in undergrad people would always ask me if I planned on moving back to NYC after college and my answer was always yes, without a doubt. Little did I know that I would fall in love with Washington DC. I liked living on my own for a while but seeing everyone leaving to start new chapters of their lives in different cities make me want new scenery. If it was up to me though, Howard students would just take over the DMV after graduation so we would never have to be apart.
Now I’m back in the New York, concrete jungle where dreams are made up. It was a pretty easy adjustment considering I was born and raised here; adjusting to living back home is a little more difficult though. I think New York can be really great for my social life and my life as a blogger. NYC bloggers, where yall at?
The New Gig
After 4 long years of working for Clinique as a beauty consultant, I’m kind of sad that I quit but I knew it would come sooner than later. Being hat working in retail was not a part of my life plan and I have a marketing degree, a transition was needed.
Now I’m working for Housing Works, a non- profit “healing community” that focuses on ending HIV/AIDS and homelessness. I’m only two weeks in but so far so good. While I’m not physically out there on the streets saving lives, it’s exciting that that work that I do lays the foundation for lives to be saved.
The New Attitude
All these new changes have breathed a lot of life into me. I walk a little different, talk a little different and oh, don’t struggle to get out of bed. With all the opportunities and blessings that GOD has led into my life as of recent, I wake up everyday excited for what is to come.
Now that I’m settled in NYC, I can’t wait to put out all of the great content that I have planned for you guys. Be on the lookout.
