Fashion Nova scammed me & Here’s why I’m no longer shopping with them

Compared to the first time I ever shopped with  Fashion Nova, the company has  become  progressively worse in quality and customer service.

During an IG rant I found out that I wasn’t the only person of my IG fam that felt strongly about Fashion Nova,  their terrible customer service and shady business practices.

Terrible customer service, slow shipping and a sh*tty return policy (a.k.a. no return policy) is what made me decide to no longer shop at Fashion Nova.

I tried to give them a chance when the Cardi B collection dropped…

If there’s one thing that I love more than cute affordable clothes it’s Cardi B. When the Cardi B x Fashion Nova collection dropped on November 15th I made sure I stayed up to purchase. The collection sold out quickly  but I was ecstatic that I at least got 4 cute pieces that I really loved.

Amazing right? Not quite. When I received my package I was shocked to see that only one item was in the package. I was one of many people who ordered items from the Cardi collection who DID NOT receive more or one of the items that they ordered.

It’s rumored that Fashion Nova keeps out of stock items on their website allowing customers to “purchase” them only to end up keeping their money and issuing store credit (for item’s they didn’t have in the first place.)

Considering this was a big launch and a megastar like Cardi B’s name was attached to it Fashion Nova did issue refunds for unreceived items instead of the usual store credit. Also, the company was allegedly moving warehouses at the time which somehow effected inventory counts.

My biggest issue with Fashion Nova is the fact that they put their relationships with influencers over paying customers.

The brand is the fastest growing and most searched clothing brand as of 2018. They have leveraged social media and  to advertise their products to consumers who they could give af less about. It’s very obvious that the brand is more focused on the influencers who get paid to advertise their clothing rather than the everyday people who spend their hard earned money to shop with them. Whether these influencers want to believe it or not, they are the middlemen for helping Fashion Nova scam consumers.

I am not longer shopping with Fashion Nova because I’m not in the business giving my coins to places that don’t value me. If I can give up going to non-black owned nail salons (if you know you know) then not shopping at Fashion Nova will be a piece of cake. I’ve had much better experiences with their competitors who seem to still value paying customers.

I’m so sorry you went through this. I haven’t ordered from them because of this exact reason. I’ve heard too many stories similar to this that has me disappointed tbh. Will I ever shop there? Probably, but it won’t be anytime soon or till they get it together.

It’s such a pity. I rather shop at Boohoo Prettylittlething or some of the other other online boutiques that don’t do all this extra nonsense.

Girl, I love Boohoo and the sales they always have! I love that my clothes get here in 2 days!! That alone makes me Shop there more. I haven’t purchased anything from PLT yet, but I definitely plan to.

I’m having problems with them as well.Seemely every time they do a buy one get one deal I can NEVER log in to my account smh.This happened to me three times already.I feel those celebrities etc.. doesn’t have any of those issue.I also reached out to customer care.I guess that was a waste of time because no one bothered to hit me Back.I Hate how you only get store credit as well.I rather get my money back.Dont get me wrong I like most of those things but,if I have to go through trials to get it then I’ll pass!!

I ordered from them for the first time and they charged my card but no record of my order…No confirmation email or tracking number and the robot who does customer service is worthless.

How about I just ordered over $200
Worth of clothes and received clothes that aren’t even Fashion Nova brand. I’m in shock. If I send back, they will charge me fees. The jeans are of horrible quality and not their brand. The jackets, the same. I don’t know what to do. Definitely not shopping with them anymore.

I 1000% stand on not shopping Fashion Nova. However, since they buy clothes wholesale from vendors like most boutiques they likely leave on the original labels from the vendors they use instead of private labeling (putting their own tags on the clothes). From what I understand, Fashion Nova doesn’t create original designs for most of its clothes. But considering how much they mark up the clothes that they buy wholesale, they can afford to change the label lol.

I know this blog post is years old butttt I ordered from them 2 days ago. When I placed my order I had a coupon code applied. I even approved the $35.99 charge on Paypal because I did express checkout. When I went back to the site from Paypal I had the order confirmation but the total was more than double. I assumed that it was just the total before my coupon and not something to worry about. Till Paypal notified me of the official amount and that I was charged the $78.xx amount. I was livid! I emailed Fashion Nova through their online form. They responded with a generic automated response about not giving after ordered discounts, refunds, or canceling orders but that they are “sure” I will LOVE my items I ordered. I was shocked. I even tried tp email the email that Paypal said is attached to the order and got a “we don’t monitor this email or receive mail from this email” response. So there is NO WAY to talk to an actual person! I filed a claim/dispute through Paypal so hopefully they can resolve it and actually talk to someone.
