A.k.a. The Nasty Gal herself. Sophia had a dream and definitely made a big move. Starting as a thrifter with an online Ebay Store, Sophia is now the CEO of a top performing online boutique that reportedly grossed over $100 Million in its last performing year and has a personal net worth of $250 Million. Not that money is everything but lets face it, numbers don’t lie. It’ s hard to believe that this is the same girl with a bad wrap sheet for shoplifting and contributes her to success to a stolen book which was her very first sale ever.
In her book perfectly titled “#GIRLBOSS”, Sophia is very blunt and down to earth in efforts to use her story as a way to motivate young women who feel as though they will never really amount to anything. Her work doesn’t stop there! Also featured on her website, besides fabulous clothing of course, is her Nasty Gal #GIRLBOSS blog that features advice on developing that girl boss mentality and her #GIRLBOSS foundation which grants funds to female entrepreneurs 18+ who have a project that they’d like to get up and running.
The best part of success is not the money that comes with it, but the impact that you can have on some many people. Sophia got out of “slump”, changed her life around and now prides herself on inspiring other young women to do the same. Sophia’s clothing definitely reflects the daring, outspoken and unapologetic person that she truly is. A lot can be learned from Ms. Sophia especially in regards to branding. Girl, you better WERK!
P.S. On December 4th Nasty Gal will be teaming up with MAC Cosmetics for a line of lipsticks and nail polish. And of course me being the lipstick junkie that I am, I will be purchasing a few 🙂
