In a relationship, dealing with differences and communication issues can be a real struggle. Many couples choose to take their issue straight to couples therapy to see if there’s any way to repair the romance. But instead of heading to the therapist office or reading books on making amends, there’s a new app that claims to provide active therapy for on-the-go couples.
Research done by the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists shows over 98% of surveyed couples who underwent couple’s therapy reported that they received good or excellent help, and over 97% of those surveyed said they got the help they needed. While in-person therapy sessions can significantly help repair relationship, some people don’t feel comfortable or don’t have time to talk to someone about their issues. According to Bravo, to combat any of the therapy related problems, a Finnish health technology company created an app to bring couples counseling into the digital age.
The app called We Did It came into existence after managing director Peeter Lange went through a tough divorce of his own. The goal of the app is to find out your relationship potential and test your overall relationship as it is today. This will show you and your partner which areas in your relationship are working and which areas need a little bit of help. Then, you will be given a suggested method that will help mend your rocky relationship.
“We Did It” assigns couples different tasks that were created to help bring them closer. The tasks include encouraging you to listen to your partner more and other cognitive behavioral therapy activities. Each day, both partners will receive a daily task reminder that will need to be checked off after completion. At the end of each week, the app will determine how you did, how you felt about everything, and we’ll figure out the perfect tasks for the following week. After a few weeks, your progress will come together in a weekly relationship analysis.
The app aims to break bad habits while creating good ones to help take your relationship to the place you want it to be. Will you be giving this a shot?
