”Black girls aren’t magical. We’re human.” Well yes, of course we are. It goes without saying that I was super shocked to see an article titled I Have A Problem With #BlackGirlMagic floating around on my Twitter timeline and Facebook feed. I was even more shocked to see it was attached to Elle magazine and penned by a “black girl”. A black girl wanted for an intervention and enlightenment by those who understand and celebrate #BlackGirlMagic.
The writer totally took what #BlackGirlMagic is suppose to be out of context and made it into something that it didn’t have to be. Before I get into the details of the article, here’s a short bio of the writer as seen on Elle Magazine.
