Let me start off this post by saying congrats to Nicki Minaj on being the first female rapper (to my knowledge) to be given her own wax figure in Madame Tossauds. But to the people who partook in the design and making of the figure I give a slight slide eye.

When I saw Nicki first post the pic of her wax figure in Vegas I just thought to myself “oh she’s down on the floor with her butt in the air, that’s…different.” I shortly after dropped the subject and continued on with my day. Granted Nicki Minaj does have a figure that many people want to wax in some way or another, she still could have been more appropriately positioned. Being the provocative (I guess) artist that she is, I get it but damn.

Azealia Banks always takes heat for voicing her opinion but that’s something I actually admire about my fellow Harlemite. She went on twitter after the release of the image of the wax figure and said:

Ms. Banks has a point with the Martha reference. To further solidify Azealia’s point, Kim K’s whole “career” started off with a sex tape. We’ve seen her in more provocative positions than Nicki in the Anaconda video and all of her waxed figures thus far have been fully clothed and standing upright. I don’t want to believe this was shade but just an example of poor decision making.

What did you all think about the wax figure? Are we thinking too hard about it or were the creators really tripping?
