“My only goal in life right now is to be happy. Genuinely, intensely and consistently happy, regardless of what that looks like to others. ”
As a young adult soon to be out of college, I think the question we’re asked the most is “so what do you want to do after school?”. It’s inescapable and sometimes annoying. People usually want you to pull out a map in addition to a timeline to help you answer that question with a detailed description but that’s not real life. Of course I could say I want to go to grad school and work for a marketing firm that specializes in non-profit organizations and further down the line branch out to marketing in the beauty industry to influence a more positive beauty standard of women but if there is one thing that I learned, it is that life happens.
I once read somewhere that when you make a plan, GOD laughs. And I truly believe that. There has been so many great things in addition to not so great things that have happened in my life thus far not because I planned them that way but because they sort of just happened. I’m not saying not to make goals for yourself because if GOD wants you to be a millionaire it’s going to happen anyway even if you’re just sitting on your ass. Just don’t feel all down and out when things don’t go according to YOUR plan. Life is not a straight ride, it’s more of a roller coaster with a few humps, bumps, swirls and twirls along the way. If anything my goal is to be happy no matter what turn life takes.
